Dear IJP Families;
Welcome Back! I hope the joys of Easter break were faith-filled and relaxing. It is so hard to believe that we are coming in to the final stretch of the school year! The next several weeks are busy with lots of springtime learning and activities.
Congratulations to all the 8th grade students who made the Sacrament of Confirmation on Wednesday evening. The event was beautiful, the readers were wonderful, and those of you called on by the Bishop to answer questions did an awesome job! God bless all on your adult journey of faith.
Thank you to all the families that participated in the Lenten Mission Bank activity over the last few weeks. Through almsgiving and thoughtful collection, IJP School raised $1,000 in change for Catholic Relief Services! A heart-felt thanks again to all.
Today is the 3rd Trimester Mid-Term. Please make sure to check PowerSchool this weekend to view your student’s current grades. If you have a concern or question, please contact your child’s teacher to set up a phone conference or meeting.
Showtime is quickly approaching! The IJP Spring Musical, Disney’s Mary Poppins goes live tonight! Come out and support the cast and crew Friday and Saturday.

Just a friendly reminder as the weather turns warmer and kids are anxious to get outside and enjoy to please adhere to the parking lot procedures to make the beginning and ending of the school day go as smoothly and safely as possible. We have had several issues in the last few days:
- Follow the directions of the volunteer parking lot staff in the morning and afternoon. They have a difficult job directing traffic and making sure students get safely into and out of school. Your patience, courtesy, and slow driving is greatly appreciated.
- Tardy Policy-All students must be in their classrooms by the 8:30 am bell or they will be marked as Tardy. During inclement weather, please plan accordingly to enable your student to arrive on time. No student should be dropped off at the Douglas Av entrance unless they arrive after 8:40 am.
- Students are released out the east side doors. No one should be picked up from the Douglas Av. entrances.
- No student should be crossing Flossmoor Rd at any point other than with the crossing guard at Flossmoor Rd/Leavitt Av. Please do not park on Flossmoor Rd and encourage your child to cross the street against policy. Do not stop in the middle of Flossmoor Rd and pick up your child!
ASPIRE Spring Testing begins NEXT Tuesday, April 17th. The Aspire test was chosen by the Archdiocese as it more closely aligns with the current State Standards and the ACT’s College and Career Readiness Standards. Grades 3 through 8th will be tested. All 6th-8th graders will need their calculator for the Math test. Morning testing goes through Friday, 4/20. Please avoid scheduling any doctor’s appointments or unnecessary absences during this time, if at all possible. Although students should always make sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast every morning, it is even more essential during testing times so they may be at their best.
The 5th Annual Trek for Tech 5K Race is scheduled for April 28th. Last year’s event was awesome and we are hoping even more school families will participate this year! To add extra excitement to the Trek, we are running a contest at school. The homeroom with the highest percentage of race registrations will win a super fun prize package: Jeans Day, Pizza Lunch at School, Afternoon at the Park and an Ice Cream Treat! Registrations can include students, family members, and any friends or neighbors who sign up with you. Forms were sent home with students this week. Registration forms can be copied. They will also be located on the IJP website or may be picked up at school.
8th grade parents: Just a reminder that payment for the 8th grade Dinner Dance and Great America trip is due on May 1st. The total cost is $115.00. This information was sent out in January with the 8th grade activities letter. The first payment of $55 was due on April 3rd and the balance is due on May 1st. Please send in the payment to the school office so we may have a proper count of students attending.
